119 Ministries: Attracting Armstrongites Who Require the Law

Here is an interesting web site called 119 Ministries.  I have to admit it is a slick well produced site.  There are COG members that are attracted to this group.

As usual, it is a mish-mash of Armstrongism mixed in with Messianic Judaism.  The law reigns supreme along with some works based "grace."

Their videos are slick and well produced.  They put to shame anything Dave Pack, Gerald Flurry or Bob Thiel is putting out.  The videos are certainly compelling and for an Armstrongite struggling with the 700 different opinions by 700 different splinter cult leaders, I can see why some are attracted to this group. If I had to choose between this group and James Malm it would be an easy decision.

True to their Messianic roots they also wear tzitzits which you can conveniently buy from them:

The pox of the Armstrong movement is that some self-aggrandizing fool always seems to be able to find some comfortable office facility from which to reach out and push peoples' bad buttons. The degree to which they are able to attract followers determines the level of their effectiveness in fantasizing that they are Herbert W. Armstrong, or someday will receive a pat on the back and an attaboy from HWA.

In the general population of the world, most of the people alive today fantasize from time to time that they are riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle. In the world of Armstrongism, stalwart followers all fantasize that they actually are the man himself, HWA.

While I do not believe that Messianic Judaism is New Covenant Christianity, at least the MJ's sanity and intelligence is worthy of some respect because they do not worship an HWA type, or attempt to perpetuate and validate his personal theories.

The Calendar is one day earlier than everyone else this year at the 119 ministries and it isn't clear if they have Feast sites. They actually don't seem to have a connection to Herbert Armstrong and seem to come from a Baptist background.

Of course, this is, again, Olde Testament Christianity and even if they are kinder, gentler and happier people (under the covers, the Cult of Herbert Armstrong is such a negative place filled with depression and doom), they are still tapped into patterns that Jesus rejected. As long as they refrain from predicting the end based on world news, they'll be fine but will miss out on redemption (always tied to the physical and not to the fruit of the spirit). Hopefully though, they can be cheery and positive about the whole thing.

Do we want to become Christian Pharisees?

For those who have tried it, the answer is a resounding no.

And while we're at it why 119?

Are they into some kind of conspiracy-paranoid, jewish kabbalah, biblical gematria, mysticism voodoo stuff about the esoteric meaning behind 119 or 911 I wonder?

I know some folks who are familiar with this group, and have attended their functions.

They are not affiliated with the COG, and never have been.

Psalm 119

Mat 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven

Mat 23:2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:

Mat 23:3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, [that] observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
(Do as they say from the scriptures, not as they do from the flesh)

The Christian debunkers and naysayers who attack 119 Ministries apart from outright jealousy, simply do not understand them nor the fact that the Hebrew Roots movement is God calling individuals back to their Hebrew heritage.

Most that I've listen to seem quite zealous, but banal and just don't have the language to make an adult and nuanced enough appraisal to make a clear distinction between the true Hebrew Roots spirit and many falling into the old and now outmoded rituals of Rabbinical Judaism with its legalism and Sabbath-keeping.

Nor do their critics seem to notice that the widespread Hebrew Roots Movement is exactly that: a movement and its not a cult nor a Denomination.
No one can actually join, as its really an individually driven movement. And I believe many of those among them are the 144,000.

119 Ministries is part of the Hebrew Roots movement. There are some differences among those in the Hebrew Roots movement. Each are striving to regain what Satan has accomplished for us to believe via doctrines of demons through the propagation of religious men. We are each to be as the Bereans whom Paul had commended as noble for their daily search of OT scriptures' verification for valid truth. My experience has been that those who are seeking truth in order to please the true God are drawn to this movement. It is also my belief that this movement is God's final reformation to mankind before tribulation and return of His precious Son as the Lion of Judah.

This short video sums it up well ...

John 8:44
You belong to your father, Satan, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. From the start he was a murderer, and he has never stood by the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he is speaking in character; because he is a liar — indeed, the inventor of the lie!

Acts 17:11
Now the people here were of nobler character than the ones in Thessalonica; they eagerly welcomed the message, checking the Tanakh every day to see if the things Sha’ul was saying were true.

Matthew 7:13-14
"Go in through the narrow gate; for the gate that leads to destruction is wide and the road broad, and many travel it; 14 but it is a narrow gate and a hard road that leads to life, and only a few find it."

Matthew 5:19
So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvot and teaches others to do so will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever obeys them and so teaches will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.

psalm 119, a loveletter for YHVH's Perfect Torah

119 Ministries has set me free from ministers and the doctrines of men. Every word that YHWH speaks in his Torah is straight to the point. It does not need man's interpretation to poison the water. I have been in the Churches of God for more than 30 years. I learned much truth in those years in witch I am thankful. But to those who are still in the church did you not notice they are only as strong as their leaders. Come to YHWH our Father and his son Yeshua the Anointed One and the truth will set you free. Hebrew Roots is the path to pleasing YHWH 1 John 3:22. "Shabbat Shalom"

Was searching Google for "119 ministries rebutted from original bible context and not just destroy the messenger from mistranslations as liar lawyers do" and saw this link.
