You know you grew-up in the WCG if you are now an adult member of the UCG and think that you have been liberated from armstrongism but are still enslaved by an overhauled bran of armstrongism.

You know you grew-up in the church of god if out of no-where you have embarrassing thoughts of what you used to believe. You laugh to try to shrug them off and your wife thinks your crazy because your laughing out of the blue for no reason (so she thinks).

Can you imagine HWA and GTA staying in Booth City? Or all the other evangeli? Har-de-har.

The only one I can imagine doing that is Herman Hoeh.

The first two years of SEP in Tejas, Booth City was camp. As kids, most of us enjoyed it. Also, one of our first years at the Feast, we stayed in a tent in the campgrounds. Probably the booth and the tent were closer in principle and intent to the Sukkot, but it is difficult to picture any of the ministers staying in Motel 6, let alone a booth or tent. GTA did occasionally camp while on his hunting trips.

Most members were so anxious for authority because even an assistant deacon received some perks and special consideration that wasn't available to the unwashed masses. I never gave a crap about authority, so never benefitted from all of the entitlement B.S.

Assistant deacons! Even THEY wouldn't have been relegated to Booth City, if HWA had anything to do with it. During the Feast, they had POWER, baby. I'm surprised there were never Assistant Ushers, Assistant Attendance Takers, Assistant Door Greeters, and even Assistant Put-the-Styrofoam-cup-over-the-drinking-fountain-spigoters on Atonement. Because, as we all know, it was all about status and responsibility for the future planet rulers.
